group photo 2021 1200Tchisholm logo 72hhe future of the Chisholm Sk Club's youth program is bright, as evidenced by the season ending festivities at Black Mountain on Saturday, March 13th. 14 young skiers in two divisions completed 500m and 1k courses, displaying the skills that they developed this winter under the direction of Erin Haynes and her dedicated group of adult volunteers. The skiers in the Lollipop division were the first to race, with Dominick Desalle first across the finish line in the 500m course with a time of :2:28.. 2nd place went to shaylah Kilroy with a :3:47 finish. 3rd place went to Raegan Lyle, finishing in :4:06. Chloe Brown was third with a :8:58 finish. Sophia Souza had a great time of  :9:33. Nora Brown was next across the line, finishing in :10:43. Right behind her was Isla Haynes at :10:46. Field trip to Carter’s XC Ski Center in Bethel with the Chisholm Ski Club Youth XC Ski Program today! Thank you to Carter’s for your hospitality and discounted tickets, and to the many CSC Volunteers, Parents, Grandparents, and Friends who lovingly donated the funds for this fun filled Valentine’s Day afternoon including a group ski, snowshoe and walk with 30 people followed by food truck snacks! Conditions were great! We can’t wait to go back!

Thanks for a great first day of XC Ski fun on January 10th..

Also, thanks for your cooperation with the equipment pass out and following COVID-19 safe practices!  The wind prevented us from our original set up plan, but you all made it work!  Our order of donated little poles just arrived from Rossignol and we switched some of the bigger kids poles, along with a few pairs of boots, so hopefully everyone will be fitted better!
We started off for our soft beginning with seventeen skiers, ages 4-12, and for some it was their first time skiing, everyone did great!!!  We also had four coaches and several parent and grandparent helpers which made it work!
We really hope to ski again on Sunday... you will receive an email Sunday morning with details if we can still ski, because as you likely have all heard, there WILL (100 percent) be precipitation on Saturday.
Of course, we want that to be SNOW so we can set a track and maybe even ski in the woods!  However, depending on temperature it could also be the “R” word, and we don’t want it to be that to wash away our two-inch deep cover in the stadium!
Stay tuned!
In the meantime if you have any questions, concerns, suggestions... please reach out via email, and if you prefer to chat, leave your phone number and we’ll call you in between snow dancing!

Chisholm Ski Club's Youth Cross Country Ski Program

New this year! This 8 week program is part of the New England Nordic Ski Association Bill Koch League & began on Sunday, January 10th. It is designed for the youngest of cross country skiers to learn the sport, build community & most importantly to have FUN!

Broken down into two age groups, the Lollipop Group (ages 7 & under) & the Junior Mints (ages 8 & older), this game-focused program fosters & early love of the lifetime sport of cross country skiing.

The group meets every Sunday from 1:00pm-3:00pm (except for Super Bowl Sunday-Feb 7th). March 7th is the last day of the program & will feature small fun races & a celebration.

Several groups, the Chisholm Ski Club, ski shops as well as Black Mountain of Maine and some generous private donations were made to make this program not only possible, but free of charge.
