February 11: Lily Boulanger, fresh off a victory in the MVC giant slalom, took home double honors, winning the Mountain Valley Conference slalom championship as a steady snow was falling. The Mountain Valley senior had runs of 47.44 and 47.82 and a 1:35.26 combined time to take the gold. 
Maranacook's Phoebe Bell, who's first run of 47.37 was the fastest of the day, had a second run of 48.57 and a combined time of 1:35.94 which was good for second place. In third place was Emerson Dunlap of Maranacook with times of 50.26 and 50.46 for a two-run time of 1:40.72.
Fourh place went to Ashley Nelson of Spruce Mountain scored times of 49.84 and 51.59 and a combined time of 1:41.43. In fifth place was Lily Carlton of Monmouth. She had time of 54.99 and 56.22 (1:51.21). Sixth place went to Mountain Valley's Addison Libby who had times of 59.38 and 55.24 (1:54.6).
With their great showing, the Maranacook women won the 2026 MVC Alpine Championship.
In the men's race, Jackson Archer of Spruce Mountain won the individual MVC Slalom Championship with time of 50.50 and 51.20 for a two-run time of 1:41.70. In second place was Maranacook's Wyatt Duca with times of 55.02 and 52.85, giving him a two-run time of 1:47.87. Grabbing the final podium position was Maranacook's Fletcher Morrill who had times of 55.85 and 57.72 and a combined time of 1:53.57.
In fourth place was Khalil Hamdi of Mountain Valley with times of 57.00 and 57.05 and a combined time of 1:54.05. Fifth place was won by Dirigo's Ethan Knowles with times of 58.97 and 1:03.95 and a two-run time of 2:02.92. In sixth place was Max Giberson of Dirigo with times of 1:01.59 and 1:02.81 (2:04.40).
The Maranacook men won the 2026 Men's Team MVC Alpine Championship.

February 11: Lily Boulanger captured the 2026 Mountain Valley Conference Giant Slalom Championship at Black Mountain of Maine. Boulanger, a senior, had runs of 59.02 and 57.83 for a two-run total of 1:56.85. 
Maranacook senior Phoebe Bell came in second with times of 1:00.22 and 59.99 for a combined time of 1:00.21. The final podium spot was taken by Emerson Dunlap of Maranacook, who had runs of 1:00.95 and 1:00.80 and a two-run time of 2:01.75.
Fourth place went to Maranacook's Evelyn Stevenson with times of 1:02.34 and 1:02.66 (2:05.00 ). Ashley Nelson of Spruce Mountain came in fifth with times of 1:02.91 and 1:03.86 (2:06.77). Monmouth's Lily Carlton had times of 1:02.55 and 1:04.59 (2:07.14) to take sixth place.
In the men's race, Maranacook's Tristan Riley took top honors with runs of 56.98 and 55.45 and a two-run total of 1:52.43. Wyatt Grant of Winthrop took second place with times of 1:01.24 and 1:00.84 and a two-run total of 2:02.08. Third place went to Dylan Lemay of Rangeley. Lemay had runs of 1:01.42 and 1:03.71 and a combined time of 2:05.13.
Taking fourth place was Dirigo's Max Giberson with times of 1:03.62 and 1:02.63 and a two-run time of 2:06.25. Sam Hayes of Maranacook came in fifth place with times of 1:03.01 and 1:03.36 (2:06.37). Coming in sixth place was Wyatt Duca of Maranacook with times of 1:03.28 and 1:04.74 (2:08.02 ).

Haley Marston of Leavitt won the Women's 5k Freestyle race at Black Mountain in the first day of the KVAC Nordic championships.
Marston cruised across the finish line at the 17:27.9 to capture the title. Right behind her was Waterville's Amaie Van Der Meer, who finished the race in 17:45.8. Coming in third place was Waterville's Andrea Gunter with a time of 17:53.0.
Fourth place went to Elja Partridge of Oxford Hills, who finished with a time of 17:53.1. Cora Gates of Camden Hills came in fifth place with a finish of 18:13.1. Sixth place went to Scout Simpson of Mt. Blue with a time of 18:38.7.
In the men's race, it was Dave Woodruff of Brunswick taking the gold, striding across the line at the 13:35.9. 
Damon Rucci of Leavitt came in second, finishing in 14:10.6. Third place went to Damian Wynn of Mt. Blue, who finished in 14:44.3.
Messalonskee's Lex Cote came in fourth place with a time of 14:51.8. Finishing in fifth place was Nick Demarco of Mt. Blue with a time of 15:03.7. In sixth place was Waterville's Owen Tate, who finished the 5k in 15:08.1.
Day 2 of the KVAC Nordic Championships are scheduled for Saturday at Titcomb Mountain in Farmington. beginning at 2:00 pm.

Orono senior Clara White continued her dominance in Maine Nordic skiing Wednesday as she won the 2026 Mountain Valley Conference women's 5k Freestyle race at Black Mountain of Maine. 
White, fresh off her victory in the Sassi Memorial 5k Classical on Saturday, skated across the line in 14:52 to take the crown. Coming in second place was Maranacook's Harper Olmstead with a time of 17:01.5. Taking third place was White's teammate Ellie Arsenault with a time of 18:20.7.
In fourth place was Anwen Kane of Maranacook, who finished the race in 20:17.0. Fifth place went to Ella Giles of Maranacook with a time of 23:03.7. Rounding out the top six was Emily Saunders of Maranacook, who finished with a time of 23:08.2.
In the men's race, Spruce Mountain's Sam Geissinger came in first with a time of 14:14.7. In 
second place was Sam St. Germain of Winthrop, who completed the course in 14:27.3. Taking the final podium position was Orono's Reid Quirk who skated across the finish line at the 14:57.7 mark.
Finishing in fourth place was Liam Waring of Orono with a time of 15:22.0, Fifth pace went to Michael Van Tassel with a time of 15:47.8. Rounding out the top six was Gianni Haeflel of Winthrop, who finished in 15:47.9,
The MVC Nordic Championships conclude on Saturday with the 5K Classical pursuit at Titcomb Mountain in Farmington, beginning at 2:00 pm..
