2026 Maine Nordic Team Qualifier Pursuit
(Qualify to represent Maine at the Eastern U16 Championships and/or the Eastern High School Championships! These are the premier races for our high school athletes.)
Date: January 31st, 2026
Location: Black Mtn, Rumford.
Time:
2:20 2:00 2.5K course open for inspection
3:00pm girls
3:45pm boys
Technique: Freestyle, 2.5K Pursuit
Entry fee: $10/skier (this is in addition to the Sassi entry fee)

Registration: In addition to registering for the Sassi Memorial (check with your coach), skiers who want to compete in the Qualifier Pursuit, must fill out THIS FORM.
Deadline for the online pursuit registration will close on Friday at 8pm. (Day of race registration for the Qualifier Pursuit will be available but we really want you to pre-register)
Details: The qualifier pursuit will be held in conjunction with the Sassi Memorial on the same day. The pursuit start order will be determined based on the Sassi results.
Qualifying for Maine Team details:
- 20 qualifiers for the U16 Team and 20 qualifiers for the EHSC team will be chosen from the pursuit results. [U16s are for skiers born in 2010 or 2011.] Details here.
- Those who qualify will need to fill out the Google form for the Maine team registration. Completed team google form, valid NENSA number, and full payment will be due by February 4th. The Google form will be posted at www.mainehighschoolskiing.com or emailed to the qualifiers. Your spot will be forfeited by missing the deadline and the next Maine skier on the results will be selected to attend.
- Please note: this is the only method of qualifying for Gould, other club (non-MPA skiers), and non-Aroostook 8th graders. 8th graders will need to compete in the 5K Sassi race.
