There have been several inquiries regarding running the Marathon with reduced snow cover and warm, rainy weather this past week. The marathon at Black Mountain is a go. The Chisholm Ski Club Redcoat volunteers look forward to seeing you at the mountain on Saturday February 6th for the fourth annual John Roderick Marathon.
 
We received about two inches of snow prior to the rain on Wednesday and the man made snow in the stadium and alpine areas held up well. Packed natural snow on the trails also survived and we expect to have a 3.7 k course rather than the traditional 5.3 k available for the event. Following discussion with Zach Stegman of NENSA we confirmed that a 30 K course would qualify for Marathon Challenge Series using either technique.. We will offer 30 K, 25 k and 15 k options for the event.
 
Registration will be open at 7:00 am at which time you can register, declare your technique preference,pick up your bib, and pizza tickets. Provisions will be available for ski changes and refreshment in the stadium. The race will start at 9:00 am with wave starts.

15km • 25km • 50km

50km races will be recognized as part of the 2015/16 New England Marathon Series. Ski Exchanger permitted.

The Event will use the 5.3km modified John Roderick Course.

Hot Chocolate will be available on the course at the Stadium. Performance will be recognized with awards and certificates. All participants are invited to Pizza and Beverage after the day's activities.
