The 4th Annual John Roderick Marathon was held at Black Mountain Ski Resort on February 6th with 28 competitors. Skiers competed in either Classical or Freestyle 30K and 15K. In the 30K Men's Freestyle, Dave Murphy from Bartlett, New Hampshire won the gold with a time of 1:30:02. Brett Deyling of Livermore, Maine captured the silver with a time of 1:46:53. Earning the bronze was Robert Faltus of Watertown, Massachusetts, finishing in 1:48:10.
In the Men's 30K Classical, Pavel Dvorak, skiing out of Essex Junction, Vermont won gold with a 1:58:27 time. Silver went to Falmouth, Maine's Jeff Walker (2:00:34) while Brendan Barden of Randolph, Vermont took the bronze (2:11:37)
The 15K featured only freestyle skiers, and Jeremy Ravenelle of Waterville, Maine crossed the finish line first in 50:37. UMF's Calen Mandell took second place at 51:33 and teammate Neal Bryce took the bronze, finishing in 53:01.
Alisha Labbe, also skiing for UMF, earned the women's 15K gold with a time of 55:17. Wocester Polytechnic Institute's Carina Wallack from Newton, Massachusetts took the silver, finishing in 56:13. Rachel Peterson, UMF, finished in 1:01:18 to win the bronze.
