In the first Nordic race of the season, Nora McCourt of the Farmington Area Ski Team was the fastest skier, completing the Chisholm Challenge 3k Classical race in 12:49.9. Second place went to McCourt’s teammate Natalie McCarthy, who crossed the finish line in 13:32.7. The final podium spot was won by Katharine Garcia of Auburn Middle School with a time of 13:59.5.
In the boys race, Ellis Slover of AMS garnished the gold medal, finishing in 10:54.8, nearly 2 minutes ahead of the next competitor. The silver medal went to Farmington Area’s Henri McCourt, who strided the course in 12:40.6. Ben Hilton of FAST grabbed the bronze with a time of 13:42.6.
This race featured a new configuration for the John Roderick Trail System at Black Mountain. The young skiers handled the extended downhill beautifully, with only a couple of spills. This race served as a good tune up for Saturday’s Junior Sassi 3k Classical.
Mountain Valley’s Jayden Boulanger had a total two-run time of 1:11.44 to capture gold at the Chisholm Challenge girls Giant Slalom at Black Mountain on Martin Luther King Day. Taking the silver with a combined time of 1:13.51 was Gianna Divivo of Oxford Hills. Rosie St. Cyr of the Chisholm Alpine Race Team took the bronze with a score of 1:14.10.
In the boys race, Evan O’Donnel, skiing for Auburn Middle School, took gold with a combined score of 1:10.14. His teammate Ellis Slover won the silver with a combined score of 1:10.34.

Team Captain’s Meeting
Each competing school must have a coach representative in attendance at the Team Captain’s
Meeting. Located in Conference Room of Main Lodge
Lift Tickets and Bib Pickup
All athletes and coaches must have a lift ticket. Lift Tickets and bibs will be handed out in the ticket
office on the first level of the lodge or in front of the fire place on the middle level. Race fee is
$20.00/racer. Checks need to be made payable to "Black Mountain of Maine". Black Mountain of
Maine will provide comp tickets for the coach and assistant coach of each team.
Each athlete must have a signed Liability Form in order to compete. Only one needed for the season.
Skiing or riding on the race hill
Skiing or riding on the race hill between the race start and the bottom of the hill will be limited to coaches, course crew.

Racer bib must be visible at all times.
Unofficial Results and Disqualifications will be posted on the score board near the finish corral shortly after the completion of the 2nd run. A 15 minute protest period will then start.

In the event the athletes ride the t-bar, we ask that athletes ride the T-bar all the way to the top unloading area. Do no exit the lift before reaching the top. Athletes are asked to stay in the tracks while on the T-Bar. If the T-bar is derailed due to swerving the race will be over.
Following the last racer of the 2nd run, we ask everyone’s help in clearing the hill and getting all gates and course equipment to the timing building.
Results will be announced after the hill has been cleared of all gates, equipment and B-netting.
Please, everyone pitch in and help, each team will be responsible for rolling one section of B-net.
Results will be announced upstairs in the main lodge 20 minutes following race completion.

EVENT: 3km CLASSICAL 15 second interval start
SEEDING: Coaches to seed skiers as they deem.
AWARDS: Awards will be at approximately 4:15 pm in the Stadium.
WAX TESTING: Wax testing allowed on the course up to 15 minutes before the start. Everyone must ski in the direction of the race course.
COURSE: Spectators and coaches are welcome out on the side of the course during race.
MOVEMENT: Coaches must be wearing a coach’s bib. All others will require a nordic pass. Skiers must travel in the direction of the race course at all times.
REGISTRATION: Entry fee $9.00 per athlete. Two coaches comp passes per team.

BIB PICK-UP: Bib pick-up will be in race headquarters upon arrival at Black Mountain. Race headquarters opens at 12:30pm. Please return unused bibs prior to the start of the race. $50.00 fee charged for any lost bib.
