KVAC Logo 2018 72The Mt. Blue women captured the 2021 KVAC Alpine Championship on March 4th at Black Mountain. In the slalom, Oxford Hills' Liz Dieterich came in first with runs of 50.69 and 50.66 for a 1:41.35 two-run total. Second place went to Anna Erb of Maranacook, whose total time was 1:44.74. Finishing in third place was Courtney Larson of Edward Little, who had a total time of 1:44.91. Rounding out positions 4-6 were Bella Devivo of Oxford Hills (1:45.95), Sadie McDonough of Mt. Blue (1:46.24), and Camden Hills' Abigail Williams (1:49.43).

In the afternoon slalom event, the women battled wind gusts, Dieterich was again the fastest skier with runs of 50:61 and 48.38 for a total of 1:38.99. Larson moved up a spot to take second place, finishing her two runs at 1:42.83. Katie Yeaton of Mt. Blue took third with a 1:43.89 time. Also finishing in the top six were Devivo (1:44.77), McDonough (1:45.36) and Camden's Lily Stowe.

Fnishing with top team scores were Mt. Blue with 1,542 points, Maranacook at 1,488 points and Camden Hills with 1, 483.

The KVAC men will hold their alpine championship at Black Mountain on Tuesday, March 11th.
