The Chisholm Ski Club hosted it's 1st Annual Tom Kendall Legends Race at Black Mountain on March 13th. The race was part of the Ski Museum of Maine's two-day event, with a Giant Slalom competition taking place on March 11th at Mt. Abram Ski Area and this 5K Nordic race on the John Roderick Ski Trails. Competitors in the Legends races were all 50 years of age and older. 

Mike Becker skated the course in a blistering time of :18:51 to take the gold medal in the 60-69 age group. mike beckerHe also won his division in the earlier.GS race .

Liz Repetto came across the finish second with a time of :22:18 to win ih the women's 50-59 age group.

liz repettoThird across the finish line for the men was Randy Easter with a time of :23:18. Easter, who grew up in Mexico, Maine, last competed on these courses as a high school student. 

Jeff Newson completed the course in :24:12 to win the men's 70 and older division.

Ann White crossed the line at  :33:33 to grab the top spot in the women's 60-69 division.

Muzzy Barton finished the race in :30:40 while local legend Dan "Mouse" Warner skied a great pace and finished with a time of :35:31. John Kendall used a strong finish and a dose of adrenaline to stride to a :45:37 time. Former Rumford standout Rick Hale suffered an equipment malfunction, but manage to cross the line with only one ski still attatched to his book, a great display of determination.
