Thatcher Riley of Rangeley was the fastest skier in the Middle School boys giant slalom race at Black Mountain on Friday, February 19th. Thatcher had runs of 34.95 and 34.49 to win gold with his combined time of 1:09.44. Teammate Tristan Riley came in second with a two-run total of 1:10.72. Third place went to Orrin Slover, skiing for Auburn. Slover had a combined time of 1:12.35.
In the girls' race, Pheobe Bell, skiing for FAST, had runs of 35.22 and and 35.19 for a winning combined time of 1:10.41. Right behind her in second place was Adelle MacLeay of Rangeley who had a combined score of 1:10.92. Third place went to Madie Morton of FAST, who had a total time of 1:11.90.
