The Chisholm Ski Club, Black Mountain Ski Resort, and NENSA are combining to host the 2017 Qualifying races for Nordic skiers hoping to earn a spot on the Maine teams that will represent our state at Eastern High School Nordic Championships to be held on March 17-19, 2017 at Mountain Top Inn & Resort, Chittenden VT or picked for the NENSA U16 Championships to be held on March 10-12, 2017 at Titcomb Mountain, Farmington ME. The sole purpose of the Maine Nordic Team Selection Race is to pick the 24 Male and 24 Female Athletes who will represent Maine at the Eastern High School Nordic Championships and at the U16 Championships. Below is the schedule for the day.
Due to the predicted high winds and cold weather, the races which were scheduled for Saturday March 4th have been moved to Sunday, March 5th. Same schedule, first race at 10AM.

COACHES MEETING: Virtual – www.mainehighschoolskiing.com
COURSE MOVEMENT: Spectators and coaches are welcome out on the side of the course during race. Coaches must be wearing a coach’s bib. All others will require a nordic pass. All skiers must travel in the direction of the race course at all times.

BIB PICK-UP: Bib pick-up will be in race headquarters upon arrival at Black Mountain. Race headquarters opens at 8:45am. Please return unused bibs prior to the start of the race. $50.00 fee charged for any lost bib.
ENTRY DEADLINE: March 3, 2017 by 5 PM. DATE OF BIRTH REQUIRED FOR EACH ATHLETE

MAINE TEAM SELECTION: Maine teams will be chosen from the day’s race results: Selection will be made and announced at the awards ceremony. Those named to the team must be prepared to pay the team leader if intending to go.
This is a chance for Skiers in grades 8 to 12 from across the State to come together in a great event with a course and venue prepared to a National level.
